Multi-objective centralization-decentralization trade-off analysis for multi-source renewable electricity generation expansion planning: A case study of Iran

چکیده

Countries need robust long-term plans to keep up with the global pace of transitioning from pollutant fossil fuels towards clean, renewable energies. Renewable energy generation expansion can be either centralized, decentralized, or a combination these two. This paper presents novel approach obtain an optimal multi-period plan for generating each type (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass) via multi-objective mathematical modeling. The proposed model has integrated Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) econometric method forecast country’s demand during planning horizon. mix based on several socio-economic aspects sources was obtained using Passive Active Compensability Multicriteria ANalysis (PACMAN) multi-attribute decision-making method. been solved by Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) metaheuristic algorithm. Each solution in Pareto front contains electricity region under certain centralization decentralization strategies.

A Mathematical Model for Multi-Region, Multi-Source, Multi-Period Generation Expansion Planning in Renewable Energy for Country-Wide Generation-Transmission Planning

Environmental pollution and rapid depletion are among the chief concerns about fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal. Renewable energy sources do not suffer from such limitations and are considered the best choice to replace fossil fuels. The present study develops a mathematical model for optimal allocation of regional renewable energy to meet a country-wide demand and its other essential as...

A Fuzzy Multi Objective Programming Model for Power Generation and Transmission Expansion Planning Problem

The increasing consumption of electricity over time forces different countries to establishnew power plants and transmission lines. There are various crisp single-objective mathematicalmodels in the literature for the long-term power generation and transmission expansion planning tohelp the decision makers to make more reasonable decisions. But, in practice, most of the parametersassociated wit...

Building a Multi-Objective Model for Multi-Product Multi-Period Production Planning with Controllable Processing Times: A Real Case Problem

Model building is a fragile and complex process especially in the context of real cases. Each real case problem has its own characteristics with new concepts and conditions. A correct model should have some essential characteristics such as: being compatible with real conditions, being of sufficient accuracy, being logically traceable and etc. This paper discusses how to build an efficient mode...
